With a ship full of tagged slaves, we look for a place to put down and take care of the trackers, further out the Sylas system known for gladiatorial death games, very little Imperial, not Hutt crime zone, significant medical facilities.
Zholl chats up the freed slaves:
3 Mon Cal are most talkative, who were trying to escape Mon Cala from Imerials, booked passage with Geema and got screwed. Used to work at shipyards in various positions (planning and fabrication).
Weequay worked for Geema, failed assignment and was punished.
Twi’lek and Gran – gambling debts.
2 Humans – spice addicts suffering withdrawal (hyperstim).
2 Rodians and Togruta – untalkative but grateful.
We arrive at Sylas system and check into dock. We get a registration for our tracked transport to use on planet. Charged due on disembarkation.
50 credits per person leaving planet.
100 credits per week for docking fee.
We find an acceptable medical facility, though the proprietor has some loose lips. 1000 credits per day. Doc Kirt quickly develops a procedure to locate and extract the trackers, deactivating them as well.
We invite the rescues to join the Rebellion. Rodians and Humans are not interested. Others have questions. We convince the Twi’lek and Togruta that we can keep them safe from Geema, Weequay thinks he’ll stay on Sylas. The 3 Mon Cal were hoping we had a place to offer them.
We head back to the ship and take off. We dump the trackers out into space and head for Penumbra HQ.
Arriving at Penumbra, outside of the asteroid belt is an Imperial Interdictor. Gravity well is currently offline, as is the weaponry. As we approach, we are told that Brigadier Rasmus is waiting for a meeting with us. Son of Admiral Eisen Rasmus. He holds a special position as a Jedi hunter, Interdictor is his flagship, TBD. A bit of a maverick, doesn’t conform to most Imperial strictures (other species, disheveled appearance).
We contact HQ and set up an escort to get the new recruits. The Brigadier is waiting for us at a cantina. We inform the cell that the Commander is a traitor, and people will start working on him.
At the cantina, Osric is sitting with a Snivvian. He wants us to find someone, a Jedi who was temporarily on Oxxus base. Vader’s teams got the info before he did, so the base was crudely destroyed. Jedi was brought to Oxxus for medical attention after surviving a previous attack by Vader. He wants proof of life, to show that Vader failed, and it becomes public knowledge that he survived Vader. Jedi Orick, human, lightsaber wound on torso. His Clone troopers resisted Order 66 and did not kill him. He was on base within the past year. He warns us to be careful around Enarc as the Admiral is still annoyed that we lived.
We recall that we did not get medical records out of Oxxus base. The second in command rushed into the med bay, and there were explosions that we attributed to the raid.
As we head to HQ, we hear an announcement that the Interdictor has left the system. Dax has returned and tells us how things went on the betting floor. He bet on the Imperials not lasting the first day, and won some money. However, that was a popular bracket to bet on. The 20 minute event (instead of days) was very annoying to the customers. Geema took a serious hit to his reputation. Hunters still went in the next day. Prey did not make it, but neither did most of the hunters, they turned on each other. Destroyer droid withdrew. Transdoshan won, and killed most of the other hunters. Two were victims of fauna.
Tennic is being kept company with a Wookie and Gungan. He’s still groggy. He can’t believe that we took the Imperial’s word over his. Dune explains that his tells upon being outed were those of guilty person getting caught. He claims his rendezvous went bad, ran afoul of Geema’s people. Not everyone made it. He doesn’t know where Orick is. The deal was that he was just supposed to loose the base. We were being tracked down, they were willing to let all the personnel go, they just wanted the records. They raided early. Later he confronted them and was put into Geema’s care.
Contact was someone from ISB (not Brigadier Rasmus). Silence (ex-clone trooper) brought the wounded Jedi in for treatment.
Orick (human, female, blonde, avg height) was grievously wounded. Tennic never talked to her. Was on base during raid. Was there less than a month.
Theory: ISB (Working for Rasmus) wanted data, made a deal with Tennic to gain data in return for evacuation. Vader crashed party after Jedi.
We step outside for a conference, including Aralah. We could put him back on the game planet to raise up the natives against Geema. We need him to hand over contacts with the rest of the Rebellion. Other two rendezvous locations to recover more of them.
Contacts with Alliance: very little, very independent, came through Fulcrum. Head to Penumbra and dead drop messages for each other.
Other survivors: rendezvous were hyperspace coordinates, not final destination. He jumped near Imperial shipment under attack by pirates(?). Did not go well for him.
Geema resistance: He accepts offer.
We explain the situation to the rest of the cell. While some are suspicious, all are on board, and a few excitedly volunteer.
We go through the rescued intel from Oxxus, but fail to reveal anything.
We drop a message for Fulcrum, requesting intel on other Oxxus survivors.
